Mitra Sehi, OD, PhD, MBA
Dr. Mitra Sehi is a Clinical Vision Scientist with over 20 years of clinical and research experience in Ophthalmology in academia and pharmaceutical companies. She spent 9 years in academia as Research Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and Neuroscience at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami. Her Ophthalmology Medical Lead experience spans a variety of phase I - IV clinical trials in retina, glaucoma, anterior segment, and presbyopia and Ophthalmic surgical and diagnostic devices at different pharmaceutical companies for the past decade.
At Fortrea, Mitra Sehi serves as a global lead physician, providing clinical and medical expertise and medical monitoring on assigned projects. She is also responsible for providing subject matter and drug development expertise for the medical strategy and execution.
Mitra Sehi has published over 90 peer-reviewed publications and abstracts; and has lectured globally on Ophthalmic topics. She is a fellow of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (FARVO), and American Academy of Optometry (FAAO), and a member of American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO). Mitra's fascination with ophthalmology research started when she first saw the burden of vision impairment on the lives of many patients, old and young alike. This motivated her to dedicate her career life to reduce the burden of blinding diseases, through research. She lives in Palm Beach, Florida.
